The Brief
Zach and Aime wanted their Palm Jumeirah garage to become a gym that looked and felt like part of the house, not a converted garage. Top tier equipment was a given. The harder part was the room itself: walls, lighting, storage, mirrors and climate all had to be redone so that nothing in the finished space said garage.
What We Did
We handled the whole interior. The floor is pure EPDM in a marble grain finish, which reads as stone but performs like commercial rubber. The walls were clad in real wood slats, not composite cladding, with LED lighting running behind them, and the mirrors float off the wall with LED backlighting of their own. The existing storage cupboards stayed but got custom doors to match the room. In the garage itself we changed the air conditioning sensors and the control panels so the space is conditioned like a room rather than a car port.
The equipment is full Technogym: cardio with the immersive trainer experience, strength, a wide accessory set and a battle rope for conditioning.
The Equipment
- Technogym cardio machines with immersive trainer
- Technogym strength equipment and accessories
- Battle rope
- Pure EPDM marble grain flooring
- Real wood slat walls with LED backlighting
- Floating mirrors with LED backlighting
- Custom storage cupboard doors
- Air conditioning sensors and control panels replaced
The Result
A garage that is now the best room in the house. Zach and Aime have since come back to us for two more projects, at Fairways and a rooftop pergola in Dubai Hills, which says more than we can.
