I spent years in the golf business before fitness, so I will be straight with you about what these do well. Ball data and shot shape are genuinely accurate on a good unit. Practice on one and your ball striking improves, because you get numbers on every swing instead of guessing. Course play is the fun part, but the range mode is what actually lowers your handicap.

The other honest point. From May to September, playing eighteen holes here is a physical test rather than a pleasure. A simulator gives you the summer back.

What is in the package

- Launch monitor: captures ball speed, launch angle, spin, carry and shot shape, plus club path and face data, so practice sessions give you real feedback.

- Enclosure and impact screen: full width screen in a braced frame with side barrier netting, so a thinned wedge stays in the room.

- Short throw projector: mounted and aligned to fill the screen without you walking through the beam.

- Commercial hitting mat with putting turf: firm enough for real contact, forgiving enough for your wrists.

- PC and simulation software: course play, driving range, practice modes and shot tracking.

- Full installation and calibration, and a walkthrough so you are actually using it on day one.

The space you need

This is the part people get wrong, so read it before you enquire.

- Ceiling height: 3 metres is comfortable. 2.9 metres is the realistic minimum and taller players with a driver will still catch it. Below that, do not.

- Width: 3.5 metres so you can swing freely, more if a left hander and a right hander both use it.

- Depth: 4.5 metres, to allow the screen, your stance and the projector throw.

Ground floor rooms, garages converted into gyms, and majlis rooms all work well. Send me a photo and the measurements and I will confirm the fit before anything is booked.

How it fits into real life

Most of our simulator clients fall into three groups. Serious golfers who want to keep a swing through the summer. Families where the simulator becomes the room everyone ends up in. And businesses running client days, where a simulator does more for a relationship than a meeting room ever will.

It is also the single most effective way to get better without burning four hours per round. Thirty minutes of range mode, twice a week, with numbers on every shot.

Rental details

The golf simulator rents for 4,999 AED per month, including VAT. Minimum rental period is one month, then month to month. Delivery, installation, calibration and setup are included.

Installation takes a few hours and we survey the room first, so this one is booked rather than dropped off. We hold limited units, so availability is first come.
