This is the setup for cold water that gets used hard.

The difference is the filtration. On a standard ice bath, water passes through a filter built into the chiller. On this one the filtration is a separate external unit with its own larger filter cartridge, working independently of the cooling system. More water moved, more contact time, a bigger filter surface, and filtration that keeps running regardless of what the chiller is doing.

That matters when more than one person is using the bath, when it runs every day, or when it sits outdoors in Dubai and picks up dust as well as skin, oils and sweat. It is the same reason commercial pools do not rely on a filter tucked inside the pump.
