The Schwinn Smooth Cycling series is designed to provide riders with a quiet and comfortable experience, allowing them to focus on their workout without distraction. The SC 5 bike is a user-focused model that combines adjustability and biomechanics to provide the perfect fit for riders of all sizes and abilities. The bike features a patent-pending bottom bracket that exceeds industry standards and rust-defying materials to ensure long-lasting quality. The drivetrain has a Q factor of 162 mm and a smooth belt drive, which provides a comfortable ride for users.

The SC 5 comes with a heavy perimeter-weighted flywheel and a quiet Poly-V belt drive train, which delivers a smooth cycling experience. The resistance system uses a top-down friction brake pad, and the bike has direct pressure brake resistance. Riders can add an optional 4iiii® crank arm power meter for accurate strain gauge power feedback or an Echelon2 console for immediate feedback during training sessions. The Morse Taper pedals and bottom bracket provide increased durability and reliability, while the multi-position handlebars accommodate a wide range of choreography.

The bike's frame is made from powder-coated, e-coated, corrosion-resistant steel, and the seat slider and handlebar materials are made from aluminum. The handlebars and seat settings provide vertical and fore/aft user adjustment for an optimal bike fit, and the dual oversized easy-access water bottle holders are integrated into the handlebar design. The drivetrain features a durable 6-Groove Poly-V belt for smooth cycling, and the non-rusting urethane/over-molded leveling feet make it easy to adjust the bike's level. The bike is compatible with the Star Trac Group Cycling Computer and has a max user weight of 350 lb (159 kg) and a user height range of 4’11” to 6’8” (150 cm to 203 cm).
